SALES AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT CONTRACTOR
1099 Independent Contractor · Commission Only
Smith Follow-Up Services is looking for independent contractors who want the flexibility to focus on the type of work they are best at.
Some people are naturally strong at sales. Others are better at working with existing clients and keeping everything organized. Some people are comfortable doing both. This opportunity is structured to allow for all three.
You can focus on sales, account management, or both, depending on your strengths and the type of work you prefer.
Sales
If sales is your strength, your focus will be finding and bringing in new clients. That may include prospecting, speaking with business owners or decision-makers, explaining our services, following up with interested prospects, and closing new accounts.
Sales contractors earn 25% commission on commissionable sales, increasing to 30% beginning with the 10th sale in a calendar month. Recurring sales commission continues while the recurring service remains active and paid.
There are no required sales quotas.
Account Management
If you are better at working with clients than selling to them, you can focus on account management.
Account managers work with active clients, help keep their accounts running smoothly, answer routine questions, monitor activity, handle normal client communication, and coordinate service changes when needed.
Account managers earn 25% of recurring managed revenue while managing 1–15 active clients, increasing to 30% at 16 or more active clients.
You also control how many clients you are willing to manage based on your own workload and availability.
Want to Do Both?
You can.
If you sell a client service and also manage that client, you receive the applicable 25%/30% sales share plus the applicable 25%/30% account-management share.
You are not expected to do both. If you are excellent at sales and have no interest in managing clients, that is completely fine. If you are great with clients but do not want to sell, that works too.
The goal is to let people work where they are strongest.
What the Work Looks Like
Depending on which side of the role you choose, your day may involve finding and contacting potential business clients, speaking with business owners, following up with prospects, bringing new clients into the company, managing existing client relationships, responding to routine client needs, monitoring client accounts and campaigns, keeping information updated in the Smith Follow-Up system, and coordinating service changes when needed.
What We Provide
You will receive training on the Smith Follow-Up system and how we operate.
Sales-track applicants should already have practical outbound-sales experience and be able to prospect, start cold conversations, handle objections, follow up, and close with minimal coaching. Account-management applicants do not need prior CRM or software experience.
The work is remote, scheduling is flexible, and contractors are expected to manage their own time and responsibilities.
Who This May Be a Good Fit For
This may be a good fit for someone who communicates professionally, works well independently, follows through without constant supervision, is willing to learn a new system, and is comfortable either speaking with businesses, managing clients, or both.
For sales, practical outbound experience is required. For account management, reliability, communication, independent follow-through, and the ability to learn the system matter most.
Compensation
This is a 1099 independent-contractor position and is commission only.
There is no salary, hourly wage, or guaranteed minimum income.
Your earnings depend on the clients you bring in, the accounts you manage, or both.
There are no fees to join, no paid training requirement, and no requirement to purchase leads or software from Smith Follow-Up Services.
When applying, simply indicate whether you are most interested in Sales, Account Management, or Both.
